So Nerdfit.com is going through a rebirth, and we’re working on setting up a review site where these kind of reviews would be at home, until then I’d rather not deprive you – the glorious internet the ability to read our beautiful words where we can be classy about a scotch and how it tastes while simultaneously being as crass as some of the spirits we’ve tried. As such I’ve added the articles here for your viewing pleasure.

[UNDER CONSTRUCTION] – expect missing images, dead links, and overall non-complete things. I’m working on it.

Booze Reviews: Glenmorangie Nectar D’or 750mL

John : October 27, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Nectar of the gods, over our nearly 2 years here at Nerdfit we’ve said that to only a select few spirits. Yet as our last review this scotch is trying to claim the title on its own right, a right it does not deserve. Yes folks booze reviews on Nerdfit is ending, and we do so by taking an expensive scotch that wanks hard, and tear it to shreds putting it rightly so in its place.

Booze Reviews: Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 750mL

John : October 20, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Ladies and gents I’ve got some saddening news – booze reviews (On Nerdfit) is ending. I had meant to tell you this last week, but the scotch was ruined so badly by a Sherry Cask that I didn’t want to rain more shit on the annual crap parade. Fear not we will be back in the form of a newly-ventured project, but with the recent restructuring of Nerdfit you have to admit we’ve always been a bit out of place on Nerdfit.

Booze Reviews: Glenmorangie Lasanta 750mL

John : October 6, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Now those of us who’ve read this column know that we love scotch. We love scotch so much we’d actually marry it – despite thinking marrying anything not human is beyond weird. So while Justice was journeying through many places one of his highlights was Glenmorangie. A solid scotch that we all enjoy from time to time. So when we saw that there was a tasting pack of Glenmorangie’s starters (aka nothing over the age of 12) we gladly picked it up.

Booze Reviews: Reyka Vodka 750mL

John : August 25, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Do you lot remember a few years back when that volcano erupted in Iceland? The name of that volcano was Eyjafjallajökull and it disrupted air travel all over Europe and Asia the likes of which had not been seen for such a small volcanic eruption.

When most of us heard that we thought: Woah, volcano! And what a hell of a name that is! Amazing!

The people at Reyka Vodka said: Who wants to go collect rocks from the volcano to distill our vodka with?

Where that is not 100% accurate as I cannot prove that they used those rocks BUT it would not surprise me if that exact sentiment went into crafting this vodka.

Booze Reviews: Jura Single Malt Scotch 750mL

John : August 18, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

I spent most of my time writing this intro trying to think of a clever way to compare Jura and the show ’16 and Pregnant’ with the word ‘disappointment’ as the punchline.  As you can see I didn’t quite make it, though as my first statement might imply, Jura really wasn’t worth me wasting anymore of my time trying to be clever on its behalf.  So here’s Jura: A half decent Single Malt Scotch that things its the shit.

Booze Reviews: Twenty 2 Vodka 750mL

John : August 11, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Ahh back from a nice beercation. Always feels good. Well back to what we always do review vodkas – Funny I wrote that as booze but then I realized how many vodka’s we’ve actually reviewed in our near 2 years here. This one though you may have not heard of as its micro-distilled. Which means that – oh yes – it’s time for some vodka hipster reviews.

Booze Reviews: Beercation Part 2: Part 3 – Firestone 15th Anniversary Ale

John : August 4, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Hello Traveler! Welcome to the peaceful Booze Reviews about Firestone. Now we’ve recently been suffering from an onset of evil bandits, and even missed last week’s posting. BUT fear not humble mercenary – for this week we have the finale to Beercation Part 2. Our only regret is that this beer was clearly made for the skags.

Nope.Reviews@Nerdfit.com/You’reNotMyRealDad

John : July 28, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Hey guys – so no booze reviews this week, and I know your wondering where your What Nu In Animu is too. Right now the Buffalo Lounge is moving and evolving into it’s classy grandpa phase. The beer has been reviewed and the podcast recorded – but I’m the only who can write the articles and edit the show (This is a lie – I have 4 co-hosts who could do this) so while we get things in the lounge setup expect some things to be delayed. Once it’s setup though expect some more booze reviews with everyone, and What’s Nu actually becoming a twice a month podcast since I no longer live in CT.

But I had to review something – so I reviewed my fridge after my first day here:

Final Score? 10/10

Booze Reviews: Beercation Part 2: Part 2 – Double Electric Boogaloo

John : July 21, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Hello and welcome to Beercation Part2, PART 2! This week before we review a specialty beer we’ve got a batch of beer to review that’s not stouts. We’ve got another 3 beers to go through and much like we normally do with beers these reviews will be shortened.

Booze Reviews: Beercation Part 2: Part 1 – Stouts

John : July 14, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

What you got a problem with that name? Well it’s better than Buttcrust 2012 which was the only other option. Yes deer viewers and people too we have traveled once again to the secret location that you can find right here. And while there was no snow there was certainly some skateboarding, fishing, and going down to the ol’ water hole – except stupid bets and rusty bolts made it so none of that happened – so we just ended up reviewing (read drinking) a lot of beer.

Booze Reviews: Bowmore Islay Scotch 17yr 750mL

John : July 7, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Most recently we celebrated in the combined birthday of both a Buffalo, and a Bear. To mark the festivities we decided to enjoy the wonders of a British style pub known as the British Beer Company (BBC) – which first off is a chain bar in American meaning the purpose of being a true British Pub is essentially out the window. BUT bring on the goofy racism.

Booze Reviews: Smuttynose Ry(e)an Ale

John : June 30, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Sorry this article is a week late, but I tried to login to the site at three separate occasions only to get a server error – which I took as a sign to get really drunk for my birthday and burn a pizza box using my fridge. Either way we come now to the final review of the Nauticon Panel and as you should – we’re finishing with a beer. A beer so rare only a single brand of store sells it, in essentially a single state, in a single part of the country.

Booze Reviews: Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750mL

John : June 16, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Finally we come to the last spirit reviewed from Nauticon and while my comrades rated this overall I personally will be going over the finer details of this bourbon. Why? Because the Buffalo and Bourbon go together like – well fuck – buffalos and bourbon I guess.

Booze Reviews: Johnnie Walker Gold Label 750mL

John : June 9, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

A more noble beverage I have not yet tasted.

Too formal?  I personally don’t think so.  If nothing else when I first tried this scotch while dressed in a suit vest I was probably a bit under-dressed.  Today on Booze Reviews ladies and gentlemen, I, Justice, will show you the end of a legacy.  That’s right, we’ve finally finished the full spectrum of Johnnie Walker scotches with this very appropriate choice:  Johnnie Walker Gold Label.

Booze Reviews: Jose Cuervo Black 750mL

John : June 2, 2012 12:00 pm : Booze

Eagle-eyed readers will have noted I mentioned this being the ‘scotch’ of Cuervo’s a few weeks back. I would like to now publicly apologize for that statement as I now realize it was said during St Patrick’s day, and told to me secondhand. Now while we commonly here mix Mexican and Irish themes it would appear mixing whisky with tequila isn’t the best of ideas.
